Words from a family member.
I wanted to reach out to everyone at the Elms and thank them for taking the time to review Gary’s care.
Behind the scenes, I deal with all of his many doctors, supplies, emotions, drugs and laundry. At times, I get too exhausted to really express my deep gratitude to the Elms staff.
Several times walking down the hallway at the Elms, I find myself very emotional in a good way. The Elms has given my brother back his dignity and allowed for some self agency.
Gary has done more living in the few months he has resided in your care than in the past few years. He has played pool, played games, sang with the gang, listened to performers, walked with the walking group, selected from a wide menu of food, conversed with several friends he has made. He also assisted Mikey with something and it makes him feel some self worth. Writing this brings tears to my eyes.
I cannot express the deep gratitude that I feel for your organization.
Best,
Laura E. Wood
