Appreciation

 Dear Maribel & Scott,

My father, David Reck, (photo above) became a patient in your Memory Care program about  year ago. I wanted to take a moment and express my gratitude regarding the care he is receiving. I do not know all the names of the caregivers, but have been especially impressed with Ismary, Lorena and Jackie. I so appreciate their hard work and their kindness and compassion has not gone unnoticed.

I try and visit as often as I can and wish I could be there everyday. Knowing that these three ladies are watching over my Dad and caring form him relieves my anxiety so much.

Each of them has gone out of their way to make it easier for my Mom as well. They let her know when he needs anything from medications to everyday sundries and have even called her to assure her he is having a good day.

Jackie recently set up a facetime visit for my Dad and I to talk and he was so excited to be able to see me on the phone. She also helped me change his ear buds and clean his hearing aides. Lorena has given me her number so that I can facetime with him during the week and gave me specific times that would work best for him and her. Ismary is always sweet and checks of him and makes him laugh and feel special. If I call they will take a minute and let me know how his day is progressing: telling me he's had a shower, breakfast, done some exercises, is watching TV comfortably in his room, ect. ...I can't begin to tell you how much that means to me.

I love how these three not only encourage him but the other patients to engage in the many activities offered; especially the music. I so love to watch them dance and to see these ladies holding hands of those in wheelchairs swaying them back and forth-putting smiles on each of the patience's faces.

I love to visit when there is entertainment of bingo or a ride on the tour bus. I enjoy looking at the weekly photos posted on your website-such a great idea-especially for those relatives that live in another state. The daily calendar is very helpful as well.

I hope you will share my appreciation with them. Their dedication to providing quality care for my Dad means the world to me.

Sincerely,

Sandy

Thanks for Everything!

My mom (photo above) was here for five and a half years, and I couldn't be more thankful. Everyone at the Elms is wonderful, and we appreciate all the help and support throughout her time here. I will always sing the praises of The Elms, and in particular, I would like to state how fantastic some of the staff were to my mom. Dora is beyond fabulous, and both my parents raved about her. Maribel and Lorily were always so gracious with helping me get my mom to her eye appointments. When I started to have The Elms administer her medicines, Magda was always so helpful and supportive. Willie and Raul were always responsive to my mom's needs, especially getting her television working again. Kathleen does an amazing job with the activities, and she worked so hard trying to organize a bridge group for my mom because she knew how much my mom loved bridge. Scott, you too, were always responsive, thoughtful and supportive. I could go on and on and keep listing staff, as everyone there is kind, patient, and considerate. Please know my brothers and I felt at ease knowing that mom was so well treated.

Thank you for everything!

Lisa

P.S. I will miss her sunny and bright apartment. It is laid out well!
